CSES-Climate Tech Center MOU signed

On January 19, 2023, the Climate Tech Center signed a business agreement with the Korea Institute for Social Value to promote 'research on the carbon valuation of climate tech'.The growing importance of climate tech as a key factor in addressing climate change increases the need for decisions based on potential carbon reduction and social-environmental impact assessments when investing and policy-making in the field.In response, the two organizations committed to developing a carbon valuation methodology for highly reliable climate tech solutions by January 17, 2027, to boost investment in those areas and to work together to create a foundation for related ecosystems.The main agreements include research on upgrading the potential assessment model of climate tech solutions, establishing a social-environmental impact assessment system and case studies of climate tech solutions, sharing information on climate tech solutions and data on Scope 3 measurements, networking for the global spread of research results, and co-hosting seminars and research presentations.We hope that future research cooperation will provide an opportunity to establish and utilize an effective carbon reduction potential evaluation model and system.

Climate Tech Expert Forum

On December 4, 2023, a Climate Tech Expert Forum sponsored by the SBS Cultural Foundation and hosted by the SNU Climate Tech Center was held.The Climate Tech Expert Forum was an event that brought together more than 50 climate tech experts from the government, investment companies, corporations, and academia to discuss climate tech investment and value creation with limited resources.There was an active exchange of opinions from domestic climate tech experts, such as looking back on this year and thinking about future strategies together.I hope the heated discussion at this forum will revitalize the domestic climate tech ecosystem in the future.

Seoul Climate Tech Conference

On November 28, 2023, the SNU Climate Tech Center participated in the Seoul Climate Tech Conference as a sponsor.The Seoul Climate Tech Conference is an event designed to overcome the climate crisis and lay the foundation for future new growth industries for domestic and foreign experts, prospective founders, startups, and citizens of investment companies.This conference consisted of a variety of programs, including lectures by celebrities at home and abroad, panel discussions, climate tech start-up contests, climate tech exhibitions, and 1:1 investment consultations with startups and investors, providing a variety of experiences to participants.In particular, at the SNU Climate Tech Center, Jung Soo-jong, the head of the center, participated in the panel discussion and the judging section of the climate tech start-up competition.We hope that we will continue to lead the development of the climate tech industry through the Seoul Climate Tech Conference.

Special Lecture on Climate Tech Start-ups

On November 22, 2023, the SNU Climate Tech Center held a "2023 University Climate Tech Startup Special Lecture" with Sopoong Ventures and Kakao Impact.In the special lecture, we learned about how to solve the climate crisis with technology-based businesses through startup investment trends and case analysis of climate tech start-ups. As a special lecture to learn actual cases, it provided more diverse experiences to participating students, resulting in high satisfaction.We hope that special lectures on climate tech at universities with Sopoong Ventures and Kakao Impact will continue to be held in the future.

SBS D Forum

Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry - SNU Climate Tech Center MOU signed

The MOU between the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the SNU Climate Tech Center was signed on October 16.The two agencies said that the main purpose of the MOU is to hold the 2023 Climate Tech Forum, which previously broke the news, regularly.Various projects will be carried out through this MOU, including holding joint events to discuss ways to respond to the climate crisis and foster the climate tech industry, and operating programs to support innovative climate tech companies such as consulting and education programs.Starting with the MOU, private companies and citizens will have a lot of interest in the climate tech industry.

On September 7, 2023, an MOU was signed between BNZ Partners and SNU Climate Tech Center.BNZ Partners is a company that supports the development of strategies, policies, products and services needed to meet Net Zero objectives and provides relevant technologies, projects, financial products, and services-related knowledge services. SNU Climate Tech Center promotes discovery, fostering, and investment in climate tech start-ups, integrated diagnosis of climate change risks. 2023 Climate Tech Forum

On October 16, 2023, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry + SNU Climate Tech Center + 2050 Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee held the '2023 Climate Tech Forum' at the Seoul Conference Hall.Climate tech refers to innovative technologies that can respond to the climate crisis by reducing carbon emissions.From renewable energy such as solar and wind, which we are familiar with, to climate predictions, eco-friendly recycling technologies, etc, that are still unfamiliar.And the 2023 Climate Tech Forum was held to expand this climate tech market and create opportunities for networking between companies for the foundation of the industry.In the 2023 Climate Tech Forum, a wide variety of people participated, including entrepreneurs, investors, government, and academic experts!Please actively participate in the Climate Tech Forum that will continue to be held forward :)

SNU Climate Tech Center-Sopung Ventures' MOU signed

On September 14, 2023, SNU Climate Tech Center and Sopung Ventures signed MOU to expand the base of climate technology and revitalize climate technology investment.Sopung Ventures is an impact investor that provides equity investment and fostering programs for social problem-solving startups, especially in climate technology.It has created a fund worth 10.3 billion won to invest in climate tech start-ups for the first time in Korea, and is running 'an impact climate', a program to revitalize the climate technology sector, and 'a monthly climate', a program to introduce timely climate topics.The MOU is expected to lead climate tech education and contribute to revitalizing the climate tech sector through innovative ideas!Please pay a lot of attention to the collaboration between SNU Climate Tech Center and Sopung Ventures :)
